Nate Smith, who works as an athletic communications and marketing manager in the Office of Communications and Marketing, says he has every Skidmore sports fanās dream job.
āI get paid to watch and write about sports! It really doesnāt get better than that,ā

graphics and compiling statistics on game days. He also manages social media accounts,
writes press releases and even does some public announcing.
āItās a rewarding career,ā said Smith. āI especially enjoy the opportunity to work
with Skidmoreās talented student-athletes, supporting them as they learn and grow
in their sport, classrooms and careers.ā
Smith said the athletics culture and energy of big events are some of his favorite
aspects of his job.
āOur student-athletes work really hard and itās awesome to see their fellow students,
professors and community members come support them. You can really feel the emotion
at big games and special events, such as senior day games, hockeyās Pack the Rink
or basketballās Big Green Scream.ā
When heās not with one of Skidmoreās 19 teams, Smith enjoys traveling and giving back
to his community. He was recently in Charlotte, North Carolina, helping a Carolina
Pantherās player prepare a toy drive.
