Nate Smith, who works as an athletic communications and marketing manager in the Office of Communications and Marketing, says he has every Skidmore sports fan鈥檚 dream job.

鈥淚 get paid to watch and write about sports! It really doesn鈥檛 get better than that,鈥� said Smith, who supports the Athletic Department by taking photos and videos, creating graphics and compiling statistics on game days. He also manages social media accounts, writes press releases and even does some public announcing.  

鈥淚t鈥檚 a rewarding career,鈥� said Smith. 鈥淚 especially enjoy the opportunity to work with Skidmore鈥檚 talented student-athletes, supporting them as they learn and grow in their sport, classrooms and careers.鈥�  

Smith said the athletics culture and energy of big events are some of his favorite aspects of his job.

鈥淥ur student-athletes work really hard and it鈥檚 awesome to see their fellow students, professors and community members come support them. You can really feel the emotion at big games and special events, such as senior day games, hockey鈥檚 Pack the Rink or basketball鈥檚 Big Green Scream.鈥�  

When he鈥檚 not with one of Skidmore鈥檚 19 teams, Smith enjoys traveling and giving back to his community. He was recently in Charlotte, North Carolina, helping a Carolina Panther鈥檚 player prepare a toy drive.
