John Anzalone, professor emeritus of French and media and film studies, presented two films by acclaimed French director Céline Sciamma for the Denver Public Library in December. The discussions and Q&As for âPortrait of a Lady on Fireâ and âPetite Mamanâ were the 100th and 101st films he has presented for civic organizations and art cinemas since his relocation to Colorado.

Barbara Black, professor of English, was an invited contributor to the inaugural issue of a new literary journal, Gavialidae. Her essay, "," is inspired by the new course she taught last spring, Haunted.
Stephen Ives, associate professor of health and human physiological sciences, and Justin DeBlauw, visiting assistant professor of health and human physiological sciences, published a research paper in the titled âSex differences in estimates of cardiac autonomic function using heart rate variability: effects of dietary capsaicin." Kendall Zaleski â22 was lead author while Abena Gyampo â23, Meaghan Lynch â19, Brian Lora â21, Tawn Tomasi â22, Emma Basso â19, Emma Finegan â19, and Jack Schickler â19 aided in the work along with collaborators from the University of Verona.
Evan Mack, senior teaching professor of music, was interviewed by Jade Warrick on WMHT TV's 51²è¹Ý¶ù.â Mack discussed his opera composing premiere and his nonprofit, We Are Instrumental, an organization that makes music more accessible to rural schools in the Adirondacks.
Minita Sanghvi, associate professor of marketing, published âGuess The Happy Ending of A Lesbian Romance Novelâ in , the worldâs largest-circulation English-language daily. The piece, which references Sanghviâs recent lesbian-themed romance novel ââ (HarperCollins India: 2022), urges Indiaâs Supreme Court to follow the U.S. Supreme Courtâs lead in advancing marriage equality.
Pushkala Prasad, professor of management, was an invited plenary speaker at the annual Quantum Storytelling Conference at Las Cruces, New Mexico, in December 2022. Her talk was on âNarratives of Racial Capitalism.â
