Information for confirmed students
Students that have been confirmed by the Office of Admissions to participate in the London FYE program in fall 2025 will receive an email by late May with program details and the acceptance materials that must be submitted to Skidmore and our partner organization in London, CEA CAPA. Please also review the information pertaining to arrival and orientation.
Below is the list of documents/materials that must be completed and returned to the Office of Off-Campus Study & Exchanges (OCSE) or submitted online. Please follow all instructions included in the email and return/submit all the required materials by the dates listed below.
Passport Processing times
In order to travel to London, all students must have a passport valid for at least 6 months from the end date of the semester. If you (or your student) is in the process of applying for or renewing a passport, please be aware that the routine processing time for is 4 to 6 weeks.
We strongly recommend that students request expedited service for passport applications. Expedited service will cost an additional $60-80 and the processing time for expedited service is 2 to 3 weeks plus mailing time.
If you are concerned you may not receive your passport in time to study in London, please contact the London FYE Program Manager to discuss your options.
required FORMS
London FYE students must submit forms to Skidmore and to Skidmore's partner in London, CEA CAPA. Some of the forms are required for all incoming first-year students and some of the forms are required to study in London.
Upload a copy of your passport to the by June 1.
If you are in the process of applying for or renewing your passport, we can give you additional time to submit your passport copy. If you will not have your passport by June 1, please email the London FYE Program Manager with the date you applied and when you expect to receive your passport.
After the orientation on the Skidmore campus in Saratoga Springs, NY, students will travel as a group from the Skidmore campus to the Newark Liberty International Airport in Newark, NJ for the group flight to London.
Students should complete the by June 13.
An independent travel agent from New Horizons Travel will call for payment information approximately 1-3 weeks after you submit the registration form.
London FYE students should complete the London Housing Questinonaire in the by June 13th. The information you submit in the London Housing Questionnaire will be used for roommate placements in London.
In addition, London FYE students should also complete the Residential Life Housing Questionnaire for campus via the Residential Life Housing Portal (accessed via by June 20th.
The information you submit in the Residential Life Housing Questionnaire will be used to help determine your housing placement for the spring semester when you return to campus. You may also be asked to submit additional housing and roommate preferences for the spring semester in November/December.
Students will be asked to complete an online form indicating their course preferences for London. OCSE will open the course preference survey on June 18th. Find details below.

- Signature documents
- Application questionnaires
- Parent/Legal Acknowledgement Form
- OCSE Health Assessment form
- Mental Health Clearance form
Students do not yet have access to the CEA CAPA portal. Students should receive an email in early June from CEA CAPA with their log-in details for the CEA CAPA portal.
After logging into the CEA CAPA portal, students will see a list of the forms/materials they need to submit to CEA CAPA. Please note that students will need to submit 3 sets of health forms:
- CEA CAPA health form (in the CEA CAPA portal)
- Off-Campus Study & Exchanges Health Assessment form and Mental Health Clearance form
- Health forms for all incoming first-year students to Skidmore's Health Services
London FYE students must submit the required health forms for all incoming first-year students to Skidmore's Health Services.
For Skidmore - Health Services:
- 51²è¹Ý¶ù First-Year Health forms – submit directly to Skidmore's Health Services.
The other health forms - for Off-Campus Study & Exchanges and for CEA CAPA are due by June 30.
All first-year students are asked to upload a digital photo for Skidmore ID by August 1st so that their Skidmore ID card can be created.
London FYE students must upload a photo to both the Skidmore Card Office and in their CEA CAPA portal. The same photo can be used for both as long as it meets the photo requirements set by both Skidmore and CEA CAPA.

COURSE REGISTRATION
Off-Campus Study & Exchanges (OCSE) will organize a special, London-only course registration process for students going to London this fall. Students will be asked to complete an online form indicating their course preferences for London on June 18th.
Students will receive information about registering for courses in London by late May/early June if available. Course offerings for fall 2025 are available online. Any questions can be sent to the London FYE Program Manager.
London students do not have to submit preferences for their Scribner Seminar prior to submitting the London course preference survey on June 18th. Since there are only 2 Scribner Seminar choices for London, OCSE does not ask for London students to submit their Scribner Seminar preferences until the London-only course registration on June 18th. London FYE students should not participate in the registration process for Scribner Seminars or classes on the Skidmore campus.
OCSE will administratively register you for your courses in London after your course preferences are submitted on June 18th. Students will be notified about which courses they will be taking in London by mid-July.
Please note that London students do not participate in the same summer advising process required for students coming to campus, and you are not assigned a Faculty summer advisor. Instead, Kendra Nelson, the London FYE Program Manager is the summer advisor for London FYE students. The summer advising process for students coming to campus is for more detailed and focused on creating a fall semester schedule since there are hundreds of course options to choose from on campus. The course options in London are limited so London students don’t typically need the same type of guidance as the students coming to campus. London students will, however, work with their Skidmore Faculty advisor before registering for the spring 2026 semester.
booking your FLIGHT
Skidmore has made arrangements for a group flight for the London FYE program with an independent travel agent from New Horizons Travel. After the orientation on the Skidmore campus in Saratoga Springs, NY, students will travel as a group from the Skidmore campus to the Newark Liberty International Airport in Newark, NJ for the group flight to London. The group will be accompanied by staff from CEA CAPA to the Newark airport, during the flight, and from the London airport to the residence hall.
Details about the group flight are available in student's London FYE account in the . To register for the group flight, students need to complete the google doc registration form by June 13th.
